Seafood
travels all around the globe. The few species listed on
our
list are found
in major fishmarkets. However, marine and freshwater ecosystems
vary greatly, as do the state of fish stocks, fishing techniques,
pollution and fish farming techniques. Various international
and local campaigns on sustainable fishing have been developped
in recent years, and many provide excellent localized recommendations.
The following links to online guides and references will
assist you to develop a greater awareness of the situation
in your region or country. And remember, a knowledgable
and responsible fishmonger will be one of your best sources
of up-to-date information.
